After a while. It's just been so so... so I didn't. but still, here we are, easter past and State testing tomorrow, at last,
one more week and that's over. The CST (california standard testing etc) is so important for the JP teachers, if they don't get a good quotient they could cut the whole thing, so it's been
testing and retesting the past few months. In the meantime we've tried to have an easter, have fun and also get the last part of the year in, it's just been a whole jumble what with this and the other. I've just sat down to this but it's almost 12 in the evening and tomorrow is school, I think I might give up soon.
WOOOOW! I told you there'd be something special in the golden egg!
Our bunnies!
A little castle thing I picked up in someone's trash- she made a flag and declared it a Pucchi Castle
To anyone wearing pretty dresses- boots obligatory

The easter egg hunt business at Doulgas Park in Santa Monica, after Leo having poor thing slammed the car door on my nose and leaving me looking like a heffelump having a bad day ( a week after I almost look less like a Panda hurrah!) We ended up getting stuff at the market and me making a map and doing egg hunt around the house. After which they both sat down like a couple of crocodile babies and ate everything up with gusto. What can one say.

OK so EVERYONE has to admire my new little ballerina?? (for gymnastics? her choice at Target) costume- I've been parading in it for days now, I have to show it off to my coach

Yeo and I made bumblebees for spring- mummy says she thinks it's great but that my tummy is even more formidable, I wish she wouldn't comment... I'm jolly proud of anything IIIII DO!
So endeth pics, not much- actually I7ve been having problems with my camera these days ( I think it suffered a hit) - it's not up to it's old self, damn, was just pondering on finally taking the plunge and getting a 25-105 mm lens, my dream of latest. TOok it to the repairs today and was quoted that well, any sending out at all will cost at least 100$, if the processor is wrong then...my heart sinks. Cry cry.
When one doesn't post often there is so much and yet so little, let me see- no, I must say that Nea's decisively 3 year and a half syndrome has FULLY emerged and in the process of trying to.. not battle it but just let it pass without her becoming the most selfish and impertinent youngster ever seen, it's just a whole different kettle of fish from Leo. He was the more pissing and in hindsight real small stuff whereas she is like bringing a very VERY stubborn adult to conform to some degree, it's astounding the way she won't give up. THings like time outs and so on don't seem to perturb her at all, and recently exclaimed how she only loved Papa because he played a certain game of so-and-so, Leo start crying ( no wonder, had played with her for 2 hours beforehand) she gets put out of the game and told that OK then, but she has to give up play with Leo and mummy from now on- usually after about 5 minutes a kid that age would break down and start to cry. Not her. Went on with it actually whistling for a full 4 hours, in the end it was ONLY the night story time
that made her reluctantly coincide with apologizing. That is only her temperament, together with that there is all the crying, screaming and thrashing of " NO I WONT " - sort of stuff that after a while drives one nuts. Even Makoto lost it last night and gave her a piece of his mind, poor thing, he's so besotted that after being sent to bed in disgrace she feel asleep like anything and he was left mooching for hours muttering how he shouldn't have been so harsh and shout. Of course the said urchin woke up before 7am fully remembering everything (something not known to Leo) and yet behaving as if she had won the lottery. Uuuurgh.
I know it's a 3 year old thing but she really does leave one exasperated, there are no "kiddie" tricks one can use on her, actually, no adult tricks either. Seems to see right through them, quite a bummer. SHe's quite a terror towards Leo but one can see what drives her nuts- we stayed for a late Friday laugh with Nora's parents and Leo got to play so nicely with Nora ( who is now OUT of the 3 year old thing and is being quite quite lovely) - WOW what a round of jealousy, scream here, scream there, thrash bash roar. Ugh.
Of course all of this is ranting and no she ain't really SO bad (caugh)
I think it's just that lack of school, she so desperately wants to be stimulated the whole time, and I just can't seem to give her enough. Let me wait for fall. She was all legs and arms at the family pool today proud that she had let go of everyone in the deep end with a float on- did that for 2 hours, came home and promptly said NOW what can we play with everyone. Energy energy. Tuesday and Thursday will be new Pool lessons and a bit of daycare for 3 hours- still, pool is only 30 minutes long and washing that hair afterwards, getting dry and then getting on time for Leo, I don't know if it's all worth the hassle and 150 bucks worth but one can only try.
Leo is by the way hugely enjoying as is Lara his new acting classes at school, he refused to go at first but I sent him off ( wanted to to improve the english communication and thought) - now returns happy happy and practising his various speech improvement assignments. Though first he really does needs to just be able to LIVE and function properly- you know, basic stuff like walk straight, exaggerating of course but you get the gist. He's just such a lovely and nice person at heart, it weighs me down that I have to be so urusai at him the whole time, it's just inevitable- really, I'm not fussy but sometimes one Has to wonder... WHY ARE you doing that?
So there we are, I could go on for ages. Have to go and answer some craigslist (sort of online advertisement selling stuff ) questions now- there is someone (hark) called Jesus who is asking me ludicrously detailed questions concerning a certain selling toy of Leo's, some Kamen Rider belt. At last got some of Nea's stuff together and in a box off to North Dakota, dozens of checks written and posted, documents of various kinds looked over and currently looking and not deciding on a possible laptop, TV, DVD player, rice cooker and goodness knows what else in multi system - I just can't seem to be able to finalize everything, I keep on putting things into the CART section, turning blue looking at the prices and then considering well, I(ll do that tomorrow sort of thing. Standard PIe. There are so many things that actually have to be done, a million more that don't REALLY have to be done but should, one cleans the house and thinks now TOMORROW I7ll be able to concentrate on the real part of the job when the whole process starts all over again.
I'd better go now, but in the meantime lots and lots of love, 12 30 is terribly late for me and noone's listening anyway. I wonder what to do for lunches tomorrow, I'd better go and put on some rice in any case.
Love all round !!!
Thanks so much for this! BEAUTIFUL pics! Ah, kids. You've got such extremes, as well. Walking straight? You ain't kiddin'. I've finally insisted that Lara may NOT wear her clogs except for strictly at the beach on the sand, because she looses her shoes (literally) every ten steps. Just today I had to insist repeatedly that she stand with both feet on the floor and not wobble about on one or 1.5 of them, while I cleaned her ears after her bath. She found it incredibly hard.
ReplyDeleteAs for Nea... no idea. No experience. Guessing that straight-to-adult tactics will prove to be the most effective, but of course there are shortfalls when the individual is actually only 3 years old physically, even if 54 mentally. Do not envy you, but my, they're cute, whatever they may get up to in their spare time! xxxx
